HUD/Section 8 Information

In a soft rental market such as the one we are experiencing now, landlords are looking for options to attract tenants.

One option that many of our clients have had great success with is the HUD/Section 8 rental assistance program for low income families.

Details vary depending on the city or county that your property is located in but the basics are primarily the same. Low income families who have been accepted into the program have their rents subsidized by the government.

Depending on their income, area, and family size they qualify for a certain amount in rent subsidy each month. Landlords that rent to these tenants receive a check from the government for a large portion of the rent each month and the tenant pays the landlord the difference.

The process for tenant screening and selection is the same and your rental must meet certain guidelines and pass an inspection.
